A one-hour medical lecture was redesigned into a 35 minute online activity that comprised five interactive lessons and an introductory video. The lessons incorporated multimodal elements that included narrated PowerPoint slides with animation, quizzes, drag and drop activities, multiple choice and matching questions, and integration of YouTube videos. Adobe Presenter was used to develop a series of interactive online modules to provide students with the opportunity to actively learn the important conceptual content and be able to revisit it at later points in the program. It was chosen over other tools due to ease of use, was a PowerPoint plug-in and was easy to change for later use, if needed. It also has more advanced audio editing options than other tools such as iSpring.

The advantages of having interactive online learning modules is that the students can continually revisit the material for revision and assessment purposes, or to check their current knowledge and understanding at any point. It frees up time in practical classes to address areas of difficulty and misconceptions and clarify gaps in understanding. It also allows students to learn in their own time and at their own pace.

This innovation took 40 hours to transform a 1 hour traditional lecture into the online activity. You need some amount of knowledge and skill to be able to use it. In the future, iSpring Suite would be a preferred choice as it can integrate theBox videos more easily.
