Description

VideoScribe, created by Sparkol, is software for creating whiteboard-like animations automatically with preset images and characters. It allows you to create exciting and engaging animated videos quickly and easily and with full customisation.

Best Practice

VideoScribe is best used for:

Delivering course information or presenting formulaic information in a visually interesting style

Pros/Cons

Pros:

Add images, text, music and voiceover to the canvas and VideoScribe will turn them into a whiteboard video for you
Pick from 1000s of images and soundtracks in the VideoScribe libraries or upload your own
Change the canvas style and colour
Select the size, colour and style of the element you'd like drawn
Select how long you would like the drawing to take
Change the hand that is drawing the presentation or import your own
Share videos via YouTube and PowerPoint or export your HD video to your computer
Is a desktop program for both PC and Mac
Has apps for iPad and Android

Cons:

Does not separate your presentation into slides (moves through a canvas)
Apps have limited features

Access via the UNSW Medicine Media Room:

VideoScribe will be coming soon to the The Medicine Media Room (located in room 237 in the AGSM Building).

Access via a free trial:

VideoScribe is available for a 7 day free trial HERE. Pricing information for purchasing the software can be found HERE.

NOTE: If you're using a UNSW SOE (Standard Operating Environment) computer, and you do not have admin permission then you will need to make a request from UNSW IT to install the software for you.
